Life skills that I have learned from Lakeside is try to always be kind to the people around you like peers and teachers because that builds respect and loyalty which can lead to helping each other out. Another life skill is that you have to try to be your best person and thrive to be better than others too, that will help with independent living, trying to do better and exceed and try harder and train harder than others. Also work with friends to build and to build each other up always helps one go further. I think skills that are essential are teamwork, trying, not giving in to what others are doing, staying true to your morals, learning around you, sticking to the right crowd. Today we did a Newsela article and I learned more about the Bill of Rights.
A time when someone offended me with their words was when I played this game many years back with my brother where we would fight with sticks and see who could hit each other first. We would play tournaments with our friends and I would often meet with him in the finals and I would lose and lose and try so hard to win but always lose in every encounter. Then he would brag and tell me over and over that I cant beat him and that I'm a loser. That hurt but I finally started winning a little, which was one of the best feelings ever. Today we did a lesson about learning that people words can harm people inside.
There was a time when I got badly injured and it took me months to start walking again and doing pt and running and strength training, and it was a tough mental time and it was very hard. My team was also in the state quarterfinals and playing the best team in the state, and I was injured in a wheelchair watching my team get beat and it was definetly a turning point in my life where I was like this can never happen again and I don't want to lose ever again. So after all the constant training and sitting out of everything and finally getting back to my sports and what I do, I came out of it with a better mindset and better training and work ethic which I am forever glad for and thank God that he put me through that so that I can become better and win.
