Describe when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you

A time when someone said something that had a lasting impact on me was when my family was at one of my dads friends houses and he said that I was a skinny kid but in a jokingly way and I had always looked up to this friend and that hurt and I wanted to change and grow my body to be bigger since then and I have and that has always been in my mind, making me push harder and get what needs to be done. I think it benifitted more than hurt. Sometimes those harsh words are what make you change for the better I believe. Today we had a virtual day and assignment, but I could not log in to it.
