Share your personal tips for preparing for major exams. Include what works best for you—flashcards, study groups, practice tests, etc.—and why.

Before I have a big test or exam, I always look back at my notes first and just scan over what I have learned. Then I like to get with some friends who are helpful and study it back and forth with them to truly understand it and also get their point of view which always helps. I make sure to split up my studying time into sections and not do too much at the same time so I don't lose my mind. I like to move around and do stuff then study and I will repeat those steps until it comes. Today we went over an article about women's rights and analyzed and answered questions.

Today’s article discussed how more people are choosing to live in the suburbs rather than in the city. When you become an adult, which lifestyle do you think you would prefer—city life or suburban life? Choose one and explain your reasons clearly.

I believe I would like to live in the city more because it is a lot more accessible to many things and it is very aesthetic to live in. I think it would be easier to work in the city to when you live there and to do many things because of all the simple access. If I wanted to raise a big family I would live in the suburbs so I could buy a bigger house and have more land to raise my kids on. The suburbs are good because the neighborhoods and communities are tighter and I feel like you could trust and have more friends there.

What do you think is the hardest part of writing an informational essay—brainstorming the topic, organizing your ideas, finding evidence, or something else? Write one paragraph about the part you struggle with most and how you might overcome it.

I think the hardest part of writing an informational essay is thinking about what to write and getting started on your information. It's because you have to have a clear mind and really think about what you would like to write about and how much information you could attain to your chosen topic. That is key to writing a successful essay. I would overcome it by having no distractions but the topic and information I am trying to find infront of me. Today we answered multiple choice questions to different essays. It was much of analyzing and depicting the answers from the text.

Write a blog post exploring your thoughts on near-death experiences and what they might reveal about life after death. Do you think these experiences are real, spiritual, scientific, or something else? Refer to details from the article and connect them to your own ideas or beliefs.

My thoughts on near-death experiences are that they are close encounters to death that really reveal to the person how important living is and how essential it is to live with a purpose because someone can die at any time and its a necessity to have a way in this world to live that is morally right. I don't really think people can see visions of death and after death when they are on the brink unless God shows it to them. Today I was absent.

Discuss how mastering precise vocabulary can impact your daily communication and academic success.

It can help by making you more smart and by learning better vocabulary helps you with talking and stage presence and gaining respect and honor from other people. It also just gains you more skills and enhances your social skills.

Based on the two informational passages that you've read thus far this week, write about how you personally strive to avoid student loan debt?

I think the way to avoid student debt from what I have learned is to not go to a college out of state, and to get a part time job while you are in college, and to work on saving your money on everything. The main thing to really try to not get into student debt is to get a scholarship of some sort. Today we did an assignment on commonlit about student debt and where to go to college.

Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

A word that resonates with me personally is respect. This word is significant because respect is everything. If you don't have respect you cant get anywhere in life. Respect is key for doing well in the workplace and playing sports and with family and friends. Everyone respects their friends and that's what makes it special, because respect is built on trust. You will do very will if you attain respect and give out respect.

Tariffs are often designed to encourage people to buy American-made products. When you shop, do you check where products come from? Would you be willing to pay more for something made in the U.S.? Why or why not?

I do not really check where the product is from when I'm shopping. I would rather have it come from the U.S. because it is naturally made, but I wouldn't mind buying stuff from China and other places. I do it all the time, even though they are our enemy and we shouldn't be funding all of their goods. I should probably try to check and buy more from our home soil and not other countries. Today we did a Newsela about Trump.

Write about a time when your failure was necessary for your growth. Examples of failures could be failing a major exam, failure to make a team, failure in a relationship, etc.

There was a time when I got badly injured and it took me months to start walking again and doing pt and running and strength training, and it was a tough mental time and it was very hard. My team was also in the state quarterfinals and playing the best team in the state, and I was injured in a wheelchair watching my team get beat and it was definetly a turning point in my life where I was like this can never happen again and I don't want to lose ever again. So after all the constant training and sitting out of everything and finally getting back to my sports and what I do, I came out of it with a better mindset and better training and work ethic which I am forever glad for and thank God that he put me through that so that I can become better and win.

We discussed achieving your dream. Think of someone who has already achieved a similar dream. What lessons can you learn from their journey?

There is this guy named Joao Fonseca and he is a professional tennis player while being 19. He is from Brazil and has a great team who supports him and helps with his training. He is winning tournaments vs people who are more than 10 years older than him and much more experienced. He has trained and worked past everything and has adapted and applied his talents everywhere to get where he is today. I can learn lessons of nonstop training and to stay persistent and to surround myself with productive, supportive people.

Choose a word from Vocabulary Lesson 12. In at least one paragraph, define the word in your own words and explain where you encountered it. Describe how understanding this word helps improve your communication or writing skills.

One time, I was with my friends at the beach and we were swimming across a river with a current and I made it to the other side but my friend was stuck in the middle, and it looked like a maelstrom so he was getting terrified and I jumped in after him and swam to him and grabbed him and gave him the boogie board that I had brought across with me, so that he could float on it. Then he paddled out and made it to the other side with me. This word is a word that I have never heard before so I added it to my vocabulary and can use it normally now.

Which time do you perfer the most and why, Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time?

I prefer Daylight Savings time because it is in the summer and I like the summer months much more than the winter months. It's hotter, sunnier, and prettier outside. Today we did an online assignment on Newsela.

Who is the best cook in your family? Describe a meal that person has cooked for you.

The best cook in my family is my grandmother. She cooks all different styles of food and it is always so good. Her best meal, or my favorite meal that she cooks is chicken kielbasa pasta. Today we finished assignments and wrote about our dreams and how to achieve them. It helped me think more about the future and what I should be looking for now to achieve what I want.

What is the most disgusting food you have ever had? Tell what it is, what was the occaison, and why it was not so good.

The most disgusting food I have ever had I probably was es cargo, which is snails and it tastes like straight slime to me. No matter how much seasoning the place put on the food it was bad and couldn't cover the bad texture. This place was in Quebec, Canada and it was a good experience. Today we finished our projects.

As we think about Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word is exquisite because it is very classy and tells a lot in the context such that that shot was exquisite. Which means that the shot was very good, skillful, and beautiful. I use it every day, I can use it a lot and it goes with many things that I do. Today we solved a vocabulary matching sheet and wrote sentences about the words. I didn't know like any of the words so I expanded my vocabulary.
